Dress Code

Ages 2-6 - Dress Code by Class

Tiny Toes

 (Ages 2 to 3) - Lavender leotard, pink tights & pink ballet shoes.

Creative Dance

(Ages 3-4) – Pink leotard & tights, pink ballet shoes, may wear attached skirt

Primary Combo

(Ballet & Tap Combo ages 4-5) – Pink leotard & tights, pink ballet shoes, beginner tan tap shoes, may wear attached skirt. 

Dance Combo & Dance Combo Int

(Ballet & Tap Combo ages 5-6) – Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, beginner tan tap shoes, may wear attached skirt.

Hip Hop Minis & Starz

(Ages 5-6) – T-shirt, leotard or fitted dance top, and sneakers. Biker shorts, jazz pants, or dance shorts. Specific shoes required for recital will be determined before pictures. No loose short shorts. No jeans allowed.

Dancing Starz & Dancing Starz Int

(Ages 5-6) – Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, Tan jazz shoes, may wear attached skirt

Ages 7 -18- Dress Code by Class

Acro for Dance

 Fitted Leotard and leggings or biker shorts. No T-shirts allowed

Ballet & Pointe

Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair must be in a bun. Dress code is strictly enforced in these classes. Fitted dance shorts or leggings are optional. (Do not purchase Pointe shoes until given written permission and instructions from the instructor.) No T-Shirts allowed. 

Drill Team Prep 

Dance attire with jazz shoes. Drill bring Tennis shoes also. Need water bottle.

Hip Hop

T-shirt, leotard or fitted dance top, and sneakers. Biker shorts, jazz pants, or dance shorts w/ tights. Specific shoes required for recital will be determined before pictures. No jeans allowed.

​Jazz

Any color leotard or fitted dance top, light tan tights or leggings, dance pants or fitted dance shorts. Black lace less jazz shoes (No Foot Undies, Dance/Cat Paws) T-Shirts allowed if fitted.

Leaps and Turns  - TLC

Dance attire with jazz shoes. Need water bottle.

Lyrical & Contemporary

Any color leotard, light tan tights, or leggings, or dance shorts. Foot Undies or paws, or turners. Ballet skirts or jazz pants or shorts optional. No T-Shirts allowed.

Modern

Any solid color leotard, light tan tights or leggings or dance shorts, bare feet, ballet skirts or jazz pants or shorts optional. No T-Shirts allowed

Tap

Any color leotard or t-shirt, dance pants or dance shorts, or leggings. SHOES: Grade 1- Black Lace Up, Grade 2 & 3– Black Lace Up Tap Shoe with hard sole

Musical Theatre

Dance attire  or shorts and t-shirt and black jazz shoes.

REMINDERS

Boys

Solid color t-shirt, black jazz pants, shoes according to class –Ballet- black ballet shoes, Jazz- black lace less jazz shoes, Tap– see Tap for shoe style, or Hip Hop- sneakers.

Attire Not Allowed in Class

Dance or Cheer Shorts w/o tights or biker short, Jeans, socks only, costumes

​Hair Requirements

Long hair must be pulled back neatly in a bun for ballet or a ponytail for all other classes. Ages 3-6 should have hair pulledback neatly in a bun or ponytail. Short hair should be pinned back with clips. If students come to class with their hair down, they will be asked toleave the class to fix their hair.

Wrong Colored Shoes Policy

If a student already has the appropriate style of dance shoes, but they are the wrong color, they may still wear them in class as long as they have the correct color shoes by pictures and recital.

DANCE CLOTHES AND SHOES SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE DANCER’S NAME

Dance Expressions has some limited tights and dancewear at the studio. You can get your dancewear anywhere

however we recommend Backstage Dancewear at 17302 TX-3, Webster, TX 77598.
